DANCE MAJOR ATTIRE IS MANDATORY
Cell Phones, iPods, and Valuables
When you arrive for class, you will be putting your cell phone and iPods out of sight and out of mind. This procedure is professional and respectable. Charging your phone without permission is inappropriate behavior.
It is impossible to dance with a cell phone in your pocket and hand. Checking your phone during class will simply not be tolerated. Texting while dancing, No. IT CAN WAIT.
Cell phones and iPod’s are nice to have, you must put them away or they will be taken away and turned in to Ms. C and a guardian is contacted.
Any items that are of Value to you are considered Valuable to others. Take care with all your personal belongings, including electronics, costume pieces (which may be personal items from home), and shoes. It is your responsibility to guard your things. Remember Ms. Pope is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Hair can be a distraction. Neatly tie hair back, bun, pin, or wrap it up.
Remove all jewelry before class. Long dangly earrings, long chain necklaces, rings, and/or bangly bracelets are hazardous to you and others.
AttendanceCutting Class will not be tolerated and will result in failure of the class. Practice Good Time Management.
Regular attendance is extremely important because it is difficult to make up assignments.

Read Your Grade Level Syllabus, What You Need, and the Handbook.

I have read and understand the needs, expectations, format, grading scale, and rules for dance class as a dance major. I understand that if I do not adhere to these requirements my grade will be affected and failing this class will result in attending SUMMER SCHOOL. I understand that being a dance major is a 10th through 12th grade commitment at Lower Manhattan Arts Academy. I need to successfully complete all dance and academics credits to graduate.
I agree to the requirements as a dance major and am ready to begin training as a pre-professional dancer.
This agreement will be given to students the in the first class and it will need to be signed and returned by the parent and student.
