TAKE ON THE CHALLENGES THAT AWAIT YOU!!
BE POSITIVE!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

GRADING

QUIZZES               20%

        ASSIGNMENTS       20%

        TESTS                   50%

        HOMEWORK            10%

 Lab

Every week we will have a lab.  Each class will be assigned a color and each student will have their own lab folder that will be left in the classroom.  Students are responsible for completing all labs, and failure to do so will result in failure to qualify to sit for the Living Environment Regents in June. All students must abide by state and federal laws that dictate lab safety.

****LAB GRADE IS A SEPARATE GRADE- PASS OR FAIL

1 LAB A WEEK AND ALL MUST BE COMPLETED TO PASS

Notebook

All students must have a 3 ring binder for this course which has a notes section and a handouts section.  All notes and handouts must be dated and kept in the notebook in order.  It is important for your success in this course and on the regents that you utilize your notebook as if it were a huge study book.  Everything handed out to you is a necessity.

Assignment Policies

All large assignments are posted daily on the assignment board in the front of the room. Students must record due dates in their syllabus. Each class will have a file to hand in work and another file to pick up missed labs and assignments.  If you know you will be absent you must come to me beforehand and pick up work that you will miss.

The due date is the date the assignment must be turned in to receive full credit.  Work turned in after the requested time will be considered late.

The last day that late work will be accepted will be 5 school days after the original due date.

All late work will be penalized 50 %.

*       Students with excused absences are able to make up and turn in missed assignments in a time frame proportional to the number of days missed without penalty.

*       Students with unexcused absences must make up missed work, but the assignment grades will be penalized 50%

PARTICIPATION/AFTER SCHOOL EXTRA CREDIT

A big part of your grade is your dedication to the classroom.  I will award you for your dedication with extra credit points towards your final grade. This does not count if you have assignments missing.  Get these done then you can get awarded points.  ONE HOUR OF AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING = 1 POINT.  Take advantage these can build up and help you!!!!
