Integrated Algebra: 9-01 and 9-02

Participation/Classwork 25%:

1.       Daily Do Now: Every day students will complete a Do Now prompt immediately upon entering the classroom.  Students that are present in class and thoughtfully complete their Do Now will receive full credit for the Do Now. 
2.       Exit Ticket:
Every day students will complete an Exit Ticket before leaving the classroom.  Students that are present in class and thoughtfully complete their Exit Ticket will receive full credit.  Students must turn in Exit Ticket before leaving the classroom.  
3.       Participation:
Every student must come to class with their notebook, paper and pencil.  In class students are taking notes, answering cold call questions, volunteering to answer questions and completing problems on the board.  Every student will be frequently cold called and asked to complete problems on the board.  Every student is required to answer when cold called.  Failure to participate in class will result in a decreased grade.
4.       Behavior:
Every student is expected to behave at all times.  Behaving includes following LoMa rules and classroom rules.  Failure to follow rules and expectations will result in a decreased grade. 

Homework 25%:   Homework is assigned every day and due the following class, unless otherwise stated.  Students must turn in homework when it is due, late homework will not be accepted.  Full credit is given to homework that is complete and correct.  Partial credit is given to homework that is incomplete, incorrect, or missing work.  

Exams and Projects 25%: 

1.       Exams: Exams will be given approximately every two weeks.  Tests will cover the material from the recent unit and material from the beginning of the term.  Students will be given a study guide before each exam.  If a student is unsatisfied with his/her grade on a test, he/she can attend tutoring sessions to correct the test.  A corrected test will receive half credit for every corrected answer. 
2.       Projects:
Projects are given throughout the year.  They will either be completed in class or at home, and will be either individual or group projects.  Each project will have its own instruction sheet and attached grading policy.

Online Assignments 15%: Many assignments will require the use of a computer and internet access.  The assignments should be completed at home, but if internet access is not available at home it is up to the student to make use of computers at LoMA or a public library. 

Quizzes 10%: Quizzes are given randomly. Only students with excused absences will be allowed to make up a quiz.  Quizzes must be made up the day a student returns to school during tutoring.
