Did you know...In the U.S. it is estimated that 68% of families have home computers and broadband internet access while in Korea it is estimated that 90% of families do; this disparity is called the "Digital Divide". In an effort to bridge this gap, on Saturday, October 29th 10 am to 2 pm, the LoMA Parents Association will be hosting our first ever Community Connect Laptop Fair for all Seward Park Campus Schools as well as the community at large. Fully loaded laptops will be available for sale at a great price of $225. Come, get connected!

Did you know...? LoMA uses engrade, an online grading system (www.engrade.com) This school year, ALL core subject teachers (english, history, math and science) will be using it to record your child's grades. Engrade is easy to use and is an invaluable tool for monitoring student progress and connecting with their teachers. By now your student has received the necessary access codes from his teachers to setup an engrade account. This year, enhancements to the system have made it very easy for parents to create a separate parent account. 1. login to engrade.com 2. click on "create account" 3. system will ask which type of account do you wish to create? 4. if student already has account, click on "Student's Parent"
5. if student does not have an account, click on "Student" 6. follow the simple on screen instructions, and within minutes you will have access to your student's . online report card in "real time"
More good news....for those of you that have iphones or android cellular devices there are FREE engrade apps available!!! Just go to the App Store or Android Marketplace download and install the the app on your phone, log in and you'll know what is going on all the time.
Remember, an ounce of prevention mixed with some early intervention will ensure the best positive outcomes for your student
PLEASE NOTE: You must have the appropriate access codes that were supplied by your child's teacher to set up an engrade account. Access codes can only be obtained from your child's teacher.

Did you know...? Reading the Principal's Weekly Newsletter is one of the most convenient ways to stay informed about what is currently happening or will happen in our school. It is usually backpacked home with your students on Mondays and is always available online at our school website: lomanyc.net. Best of all, the Newsletter is a great way to foster discussions with your students about school related matters and to ensure that they are availing themselves of the wealth of resources LoMA has to offer. |

Did you know... Both breakfast and lunch are offered FREE of cost to ALL LoMA students. Instead of giving your student "lunch money" each day place these funds in account for them to be used later to help defray costs associated with their Senior/graduation fees and college related expenses. This will serve both you and your student well in the future.
